Title: Group Products. Ex... Hats, Housewares, Auto, Etc.
Post by: carolinaswagger on 03/30/13 at 05:42:52
Is there information on how to group similar products together on the page....Example....On this page, http://carolinaswagger.com/cgi-bin/south-carolina-designs/cpshop.cgi/usaswagg.Carolina_Swagger.9835619+st--patricks-day-palmetto-clover-flag.html#.UVZ4mxw3vzw, it would be awesome, if I could group all the Mens Shirts together, Womens Shirts togehter, Babies, Pets, etc....

I've seen it done on a few sites using this script, so I know its possible, but I must be referencing it incorrectly in the search forum area.

Many thanks in advance.
K

I'm not sure if you got it figured out already (I noticed when I just looked the page seems like the mens and womens shirts are pretty well sorted :) ) but anyhoo, in case you haven't...

What you would want to search for is "sortorder". In your cpshop the file is default named cpshop.cgi.sortorder.txt and has the instructions written in the file itself.

It's basically a text file that lets you list the "product type" numbers in the order you wish them to appear in your sections, and you can put html in there as well (which you can put in between groups of product numbers to divide them).

Hi, Oph3lia.
THANK YOU! What's on my site now is by default... The SortOrder... is exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to get started on this ASP.

Thanks again,

All the SortOrder Txt file makes sense, only have one question... Where does the code go? Just edit and up dated the sortorder.txt file to the server or, does it go in the cpadmin, grid layout code section?

You edit the text file and upload it to the server. :)
