Anyone else's shops go down?

All my shops started giving 404 error pages for any products or sections in CPShop this morning. Anyone else?

I cleared the cache and it didn't help at all. Different servers, different installs - all the same problem when the rest of the website is working fine.

Thanks! Just checked with a friend on Facebook and her store is down as well. Good news is that it's not just me. Bad news = shops down and Christmas around the corner.

Yeah!

The content file pages do load, but not the ones with CP items. I hope CP hasn't changed anything...

CP is having site issues, and they're blocking cpshop to rule it out as the source of the problem.

I'm taking off work today until I can put together a solution to keep this from happening in the future, or to at least isolate cpshop from going down when it happens.

Thank you Marty! Any way we can know about this beforehand or be notified if/when it happens again in the future instead of finding out for ourselves?

I'd happily let you know about it beforehand if I could, but I didn't find out until it had already happened.

I'm hoping to circumvent the issue entirely by making cpshop smart enough to check for access before doing anything with the cache.

I've uploaded a new version that tries to minimize the impact when CP blocks access.  Anyone feel like trying it out, and seeing if it helps at all?

By the way -- it won't help if you've already cleared your cache today.

I've still got some other features I want to add, but this stuff is the most important stuff.

Would love to try it out but already cleared my cache. Any ETA on it coming back up?

I expect it to come back up in about 5 hours, at 7pm Pacific time.

Kip, am I right in saying that you did NOT actively clear your cpshop cache?

If you didn't clear your cache, can you email me your server info?  I'd like to try to troubleshoot what's happening exactly.  None of my shops are exhibiting this problem.

Okay, don't worry about it, Kip.  Frances helped me out.

I've now released 2.7g, which does appear to resurrect shops just fine, as long as the cache wasn't actively cleared.

You should update even if you're not seeing the problem, in case CP decides to run another test.

And if you did clear your cache, this won't fix it -- but it will protect you if there's a next time.

Marty I don't see the 2.7g update. The last update I see is the 2.7f - Can you please advise as to where it is exactly?  Thank you.
