I created that cpcookies.txt file and cleared the cpshop cache but still appears "?" instead of "$" sign. And btw, what is the purpose of cpcookies file?
Thanks!

Hmm, I'm not sure what's going on with your dollar signs, then.

Can you email me this file from your server, in case it holds any hints as to what the problem is:
cgi-bin/cpcache/store/62/store_18446744072352130862.txt
?

And the cpcookies.txt file makes cpshop use a different method for connecting to CafePress.

Still waiting to update to the latest version of CPShop. Too many people saying there are bugs.

Have everyone's bugs been fixed?

I was hoping this update was going to fix this issue some of have had for a few months now posted here. I updated to this new version, cleared the cache but I still have the same problem.

Marty, are you still planning to fix this issue?

I'd thought I'd actually included the patch in the most recent updates.

Can you email me the IDs of any shops that were affected by this problem, so I can test them locally?

FYI:

I tried to clear the cache again and got this message:

"CafePress has temporarily disabled cpshop's ability to refresh the cache. Clearing the cache will be disallowed until CafePress restores access."

Yes, I just spoke to CP engineering, and they're planning on disabling access from cpshop from 7am-8pm Pacific time, straight through the holidays, to protect their servers from overload.

I'm trying to see if I can find any workarounds, but as of right now, it's good you're on the latest version.

(If you're reading this, and you're not on the latest version, you should really update as soon as possible!)

"Disabling access" -- what exactly does that mean? Does that mean our shops won't be operative?  *reaches for Xanax*

It means cpshop can't get store data.  It can load product pages, but not full globs of store data.

The latest version checks that access is available before performing any behavior that would necessitate a refresh of store data.

That way, even when access is down, the store still fully functions.

If I'm following all the issues, though, those of us who update to the latest version will also get the bug that causes marketplace pages to come up instead of our shop pages, intermittently.

Has that been fixed?

I haven't wanted to update any of my shops because it seems like the latest versions have problems that I've managed to escape, so far.

So I just updated to 2.7h and without making one single other change, one of the sections in my cpshop now goes to my 404 page. The file is on the server, and I can get into that section through admin, but damned if it is not able to be accessed in the store now. Can I borrow that xanax

2.7h also causes two of my really basic and simple hacks to stop working, but I suppose that's my problem. Rolling back to 2.7final fixes everything that 2.7h broke, including no more 404 page for that one section. Of course that doesn't help with the current issues. Sigh!!! I feel a 12 pack calling my name.

What were the hacks?  Maybe they're worth working in to the regular script.

And I'd rather fix your 404 issue than have you roll back.  Can you explain it in detail to me offline (and by offline I mean email, which is technically online...well, you get the idea)?
