I just figured out how to download my entire shop, including old deleted products ...in 213 xml files I manually downloaded by hand, one at a time.  Then I'll rename and save each one as a xls excel doc or a csv file so I can import the records into a foxpro dbf table.  From there I'll attempt a mysql database but this is a nightmare.  Everything is a manual trial and error process right now.  Not giving up yet but no promises.

Sorry to hear the latest news.  Does it mean that CPShop will go down eventually? I know Marty stated he'll keep CPShop for existing users and no longer sell it.  I'm not sure if it means he'll stop updating it or not.

Another option is domain mapping. Is this a possibility?  Printfection has this feature for their shopkeepers. Is this something we can do now at Cafepress?

Marty stated he is no longer supporting it.  So when, not if, CP updates their data call features CPShop will no longer work.  It's a time bomb.

My nightmare comes true.

Thank you for investigating it, KM. I guess I'll get to work on a master premium shop. You can have a main domain then at some point it redirects to the premium shop. I don't remember all the details but I'll have to go in and figure it out.

KM, all the xml files, etc. that you are downloading and uploading... is that so you keep the multiple links back to your site? What is the purpose if you don't mind taking the time to share that?

Thanks again!

I was trying to write my own database so maybe I could try and write some clunky code and customize my own domain name.  I gave up after processing through 200 files.  Too much to do, with no end result.   I switched my domain name as a redirect with links and surprisingly, traffic and sales went up.  Go figure.

Heads up: Looks like the end of CPshop is here. Received many messages from my customers that they cannot add any products to the cart on three of my cpshops because it reverts them back to the main page.  Sad to see Cpshop end.

Were these customers outside the U.S.A.? I ask because that sounds a lot like this problem at the CafePress end.

These were all customers from within the U.S.  This has been an ongoing problem that "used" to  be resolved when I cleared the cache, but not even that fixes it anymore. I am no longer holding on to any of my cpshops since the drop in my sales may be attributed to customers not being able to check out anymore.

Thanks Marty for all your hard work throughout the years.  Best wishes to you.  It's sad to see this feature go, but moving on unless of course, there is a fix, but I doubt it since there is no activity here.

If anyone figures out a way to host their own domain using Cafepress' API and are willing to sell this feature, please be sure to let us know.

Are there any links to other forums for shopkeepers outside of cafepress?  Thank you.

How many people are seeing this problem? I tested my sites earlier and my add to cart buttons are working for me in IE, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

I'm on Unix version 2.8a and my carts are set up to open in a new window.

Mine are working. For the moment. I have no confidence in the continuation though. I'm setting up my premium shop and designing a "home page" with links to the premium so it's ready to go.

I make almost NO sales through my store anymore, when 75% of them were thru my store before The Change. It's hardly worth it to have a store.

I'm not savvy enough to figure out if there is something going on with the API and the links from the store (which shows up 5th on Google) are redirected to the marketplace.

Uncle.

I've been seeing regular shop sales from US customers (but nowhere else), so the problem you're having may be related specifically to your installation of CPShop. I'm opted out of the marketplace fwiw.

Who knows for sure...that's the real problem, isn't it.

Getting "you made a sale for $.21" is very discouraging. I'd like to opt out of the marketplace, too. How long have you been opted out?
