I would like to know how to place the product tag in the header of the template.
I tried it the same way as the content tag but it came up blank.

What I want is the name of the products to show up on the title of the page.

I think part of the script has to be modified.

<title>MY CP SHOP:<[productname]></title>

Also can we get a bit more documentation on the store homepage feature within the Admin?

From reading it I am thinking that I might be able to pull content from the cgi page into my mainpage but it doesn't exactly say how.

The name of a product is in the title by default, when using the cpshop <[title]> tag.  Have you tried just using that instead?

Otherwise, the <[productname]> tag should work.  If it doesn't for some reason, then there's a problem.

The store homepage options are intended to help you tell cpshop where it should consider the front page of your store.  Some people like to create their own custom homepage in HTML, and then link it to cpshop; others prefer to use the default cpshop homepage.  Those options simply allow you to choose how you'd like it to work.

You can, using those options, include the cpshop homepage in another page as an SSI.  But it only works on the homepage, because you can't pass query string parameters on subsequent pages.  (That's why a number of people wrap their cpshop pages in php.)
