I love the wildcard idea, but was wondering if there is a way in CPshop to have filters and section specific wildcards (I guess that's why I put aliases).

Let me explain.  I have different themes in my Premium store and wanted to put filters for things, but not all of my subsections.  For example, I want to bring up a filter for t-shirts, but only in my 'funny section' and not all of my subsections.  There is no global name for all of them to filter out, and I don't want to have to type subsections in over and over.  I was hoping that the aliases could help.

* would be sections 1-6 let's say.
So I can make "funny_items" be storesection 1, 2, 3
Other stuff section 4,5,6  but run a filter on funny items only so that another alias would be:
funny_items,cpfiltername:mug

then I only have to update my one alias for funny_items whenever i make a new section.  So it's the same "wildcard" idea, but more drilled down.  Is this possible at all, or out of any upcoming scope?  Thanks Marty!

There's no automatic mechanism for this right now.  There's just a single wildcard list.

I'll try to think of an elegant way to accomplish this.

Thank you Marty, I think it would be really handy and a good workaround for premium stores, since obviously making the script tackle every subsection upon load would be crazy.

I can see it just being really handy for things like:
Newest Flower Art
$9.99 flower art
Flower Sweatshirts
Dog mugs, etc

all in the same premium shop.  I'll make you a shrine if you pull this one off, how about that?

How about something like

cpfilter_alias:aliasname   or something if you do pull this one off?

You can kinda see my current setup here:
http://astphotos.com/store/shop.cgi

I have a few for "ALL" something (for each of my themes) and then I'm starting to filter my themes below it
