Problem w/controlling cpshop in affiliates area

Hi,

I've been building a large affiliate section on my website with a number of different categories...  I was adding some affiliate shops to one of my pages and it seems that the affiliate page is overriding my cpshop...  Here is the example:

http://www.temperamentalteaz.com/cgi-bin/designers_lounge_shops/dlounge_school.cgi

What I'm trying to get it to do is what it's done on all my other pages... Here is the example:

http://www.temperamentalteaz.com/cgi-bin/designers_lounge_shops/dlounge_holiday.cgi

I've tried using the cpfilter_template filter and I have a custom thumbnail for it (just like the others) but no matter what combo of filters I use it still keeps coming up as is...  This particular affiliate shop has three sub-stores within the one main store... On the other pages, when I listed a main store with sub-stores, it shows it as such, but I can't get this one to work... This is actually the third time this error has happened... Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks

Honestly, I'm totally unsure of what you mean.  (Might just be that I'm pretty tired at the moment.)

Could you be a tad more specific about what exactly I should be looking for, problem-wise?

On second reading, it seems like you're not sure why the affiliate's section's subsections are showing up.  But if you only have one store ID entry, cpshop makes that the default homepage.  You can either try adding another store ID entry to that cpshop, or you can add cpfilter_literal to the store ID field.

Morning Marty,

I was thinking that maybe I was explaining myself right... Let me see if I can get this:

Okay, right now, I am building 8 new shops all of which are affiliate shops...   I will use the link above..  I've got a page with multiple affiliate shops... On the main page is the link to each of the design pages as is shown in this example:

http://www.temperamentalteaz.com/cgi-bin/designers_lounge_shops/dlounge_holiday.cgi

Here's the problem... I was adding an affliate's shop to the category 'holiday'... I created the custom thumbnail as I did in the example page (each of those thumbs is custom).  When I added the affiliate shop keepers store id and added the url to the custom thumbnail for that store, instead of the custom thumbnail appearing all of the sub-sections in the affiliate's shop appeared instead as in this example:

http://www.temperamentalteaz.com/cgi-bin/designers_lounge_shops/dlounge_school.cgi

You see, in the above example there are three shops that are showing up instead of one custom thumbnail which is the way it's working on my other pages... Don't know why.  It seems to happen with some affiliates shops by not all and I don't know if it's something in the custom coding from the affiliate shop or something cpshop related.

I am using a custom html page for each category homepage and a custom product page for both.  For whatever reason, sometimes when I put a store id in it overrides my custom html homepage.

Does this make sense?  Hopefully so.  Thanks for trying to help...  If you need me to put it in a different way, please let me know and I will...

I understand the problem as you're describing it.  However, the real problem is that it's not a problem -- it's a feature.

You're entering a single store ID entry into that instance of cpshop, correct?  Just one.

But when you only enter a single store entry into cpshop, it doesn't display a link to that store entry -- instead, it shows the contents of that store entry.  In this case, that means it's showing the three subsections inside the section you're linking to.

If this still doesn't make sense, try adding a second link with a second thumbnail.  You'll see that suddenly the page looks the way you'd expect -- because now there's two links instead of one.

Does this make sense yet?
