Hey Marty,
I want to make individual templates for each design but need your help, please.

I'm working on this page for now: www.fishpie.com/q/banjo

My Store ID is this:
fishpiegifts.2137992,cpfilter_template:http://www.fishpie.com/templates/banjo.html

My template has SSI for the top and side menu.

First time after clearing the cache, the template loads but the SSI doesn't.  When I refresh the page, it loads the regular store thumbnail template from that point on.

How can I load the template I want with the server-side includes (while keeping that same template after a refresh).

Shouldn't your template be an shtml file?

YES! Oops, that's one problem down (I changed it for some dumb reason known only to myself).  Let me try clearing the cache and see what happens.

Yay, the SSI is working fine (duh again), but a refresh brings it back to the original template.  Is that just a necessary byproduct of specifying templates?

No, it sounds a little odd.  Are you using the cpoutput folder?  Can you try disabling it temporarily (renaming your cpoutput folder to cpoutput2 should do it) to see if that's causing the problem?

That worked!  What should I do now to keep it working (thinking I need the output folder)?

Try one more thing.  I'm not sure what this will do, but see if it works at all, and then see if it works with the cpoutput folder.

fishpiegifts.2137992,cpfilter_template:nocache://www.fishpie.com/templates/banjo.html

(Either way, this is a bug I'll have to fix for the next release.)

I got the initial correct load, but then it reverted back to the store template after a refresh.

Well, considering the size of your store, you'd probably be better off waiting until the next release, which should come over the next few days.  I'll make sure I get this particular bug fixed first.

Okay, I'm able to duplicate the problem.  If the cpoutput directory is enabled, and you've set a specific product page and/or thumbnail page template, then that template will override cpfilter_template settings on the second and subsequent page loads.

I'll see if I can figure out the solution.

Okay, figured it out.

If you want to temporarily fix it while I finish up the new release, you can find this line near the top of cpdata.lib (around line 77):

&get_filters;

and change it to:

&get_filters($storeid);
