I'm wanting to change my links in the side bar. An example is new designs, all designs, browse by product type, for her, for him, kids, etc. When you click those I would like thumbnails to show up of the designs offered within.

Can someone offer some ideas on how I would use cpshop to do this? I currently have several links in the side bar using shop ids in cpadmin. I still want to try to do this without creating custom html to do my side bar.

This idea came from a shop I found but they're not using cpshop. I do like how it's organized.

So 15 views and no one has any input? That tough huh?

I have figured out that I can have subsections from the sections and subsections I have in Cafepress. What I would like is to have the subsections work the same way for all my other links in the sidebar that were generated by cpshop. I don't want the sidebar full of all of the links at once. I want to click on the main link then have a sub below that. Is this possible without having to do a bunch of special html coding, and just by using cpshop to create it?

So I am wondering if everyone has decided not to help DesignBoy at all. I usually get great help here. Is everyone just not able to help on this topic?

I'm just searching for some stuff for myself and stumbled upon your Qs.

Have a look at my shop and tell me if this is what you want to do?

Don't think what you're asking is do-able without some form of customized HTML. For instance, using hooks is a pretty good way of dynamically customizing the sidebar.

For ex: http://www.alien-technology.com/store/shop-by-product.shtml

I'm using the same template but it includes a hook. So depending on what category you click on, a different set of links appear in the sidebar.

Not sure if i answered your question, but I hope it helps.

This was an old post and I have since changed my sidebar. Still not totally happy with it.

I am SOOO loving your web site. It's so clean and simple. I really like the side bar and how it functions and I love the top nav also. Is the top bar CSS? I really don't like to code. Also really like your shopping cart. It keeps your site design instead of using the CP cart design.

I would love to set my site up like that. My site needs an overhall. I haven't touched it in a while. Probably why sales are down. No traffic.

Thanks so much.

Thanks for the feedback. The top nav was created using a GoLive Plugin called MenuMachine -- makes it much easier and faster to update.

That's a cool program but it's a bit pricey for a plugin.

Thanks
