After looking at a lot of sites, I'm still confuzzled about when one should create say, cancer.html versus a cancer.cgi to create categories & subcategories.

We're pulling specific designs & whole sections from multiple shops. Our categories will generally be 1-3 deep. For ex:

> Cancer
> > Breast Cancer
> Arthritis
> > OsteoArthritis
> > Rheumatoid Arthritis

It seems as though we're creating too many htmls & that our cgi's are maybe at the wrong level? ie awareness.cgi, & cancer.cgi & breastcancer.cgi? Which should be what?

'hope that's more clear than mud. Assistance is greatly appreciated!
