Product & Thumbnail Image Sizes

...are making me absolutely crazy.

I've done a quick hack job on my templates at  Celtic Art & Retro-Futuristic Design to accommodate a whole series of changes to CP's content width over the past few months, but no matter what I do via CSS or the images files, I can't control the size of my images any more.

My thumbnails, which I create myself at 140 x 140, are now being displayed at 150 x 150 in spite of my settings in CPShop.

My product images, which I create myself at 240 x 240, are now being rescaled to 350 x 350 - also in spite of anything I've done with CSS or in the images file.

The only way I've been able to fix the image sizes was to disable all of CPShop's CSS.  That unfortunately removes a lot of font styling that I'd rather keep.

I'm trying not to vent here, but I sure feel like it.  I've had to adapt to a lot of changes right before the holidays and I'd have been better off if I could have avoided refreshing my cache until after that was over.  But I didn't have a choice about that any more due to the last minute price changes on sweatshirts - I had to finally refresh the cache to get accurate pricing.  I just can't think when I've been so frustrated by CP's layout changes.  Which is saying something.

Oh, right.  I have the same trouble with the new images borders.  they won't die.

Some part of this CSS seems to be helping the product images:

Code:
#mainimg
{
height: 240px ! important;
}

#productimage
{
height: 240px ! important;
}

Edit:  I removed the "width" values from the above to handle non-square product images; I think that's just books.

And for the image borders, I think this is working:

Code:
.defaultimageborder

{

border: none !important;
}

The last css I used that worked was that fixed both was this:

Code:
#productAreaWidth {
display: none;
}

#mainimg {
border: none;
}
