section thumbnail borders dont work in chrome?

I cannot figure out why borderstyle css code does not work in Google Chrome.

Honestly, I would rather have a img code instead of a table cell code for the section thumbnail grid html.  I have tried it both ways and it does not seem to work!  It's driving me mad!

I have nice, neat little blue borders around every thumbnail for sections in Internet Explorer but it wont display borders in Google Chrome.  I'm too lazy and refuse to install Firefox to see how that displays.

Here is my code for section thumbnails:

Code:
<td align=center>
      <table width=150 height="150" >
     <tr>
       <td align=center>
<table width="160" height="160" border="0">
         <tr>
           <td width="152" height="152" align="center" valign="middle" bordersize=2 bordercolor="006699" style="border-style:solid"><div align="center"><[linkstarts]><[thumbnail]><[linkends]></div></td>
         </tr>
       </table>
       <span alt="<[storename]>" title="<[storename]>" class="kmcellname"><[linkstarts]><[storename]><[linkends]></span></td>
     </tr>
     </table>
     </td>

I've even tried using CSS and that doesn't work either:

Code:
/* SECTION THUMBNAIL BORDERS  */

.kmthumb
{
     bordercolor: #006699;
     bordersize: 2;
       border-style:solid;
}

ANY help would be great.  Thanks!

Code:
<td width="152" height="152" align="center" valign="middle" bordersize=2 bordercolor="006699" style="border-style:solid">

Afaik td does not support bordersize nor bordercolor as standalone attributes, they should be included within your style="..." attributes.

Code:
bordersize: 2;

2 what? Em, pt, px, % ?

My CSS style code won't work or accept properly in IE.

Thank you for replying so quickly!  I'm sorry but I don't know what afik means, and could you explain further or give me an example on how I should do this in style code?  I'm a coder, not a programmer.  I appreciate it greatly.

afaik = as far as I know

html is markup, not coding or programming. It's pretty basic stuff and even moreso now since more and more is being depreciated. Css should be taking the place of a lot of what we used to do in html.

As for your code, not sure why it's working, but I pointed out some obvious things that stood out to me at first glance.

Code:
<td width="152" height="152" align="center" valign="middle" bordersize=2 bordercolor="006699" style="border-style:solid">

Should at least be written as

Code:
<td width="152" height="152" align="center" valign="middle" style="border:2px; border-color:#006699; border-style:solid;">

Or better yet

<td width="152" height="152" align="center" valign="middle" style="border:2px solid #006699;">

Bordercolor should be border-color and there is no such thing as bordersize, it is simply border. And when you specify a size in Css you need to tell it what unit of measurement you want to use, px, pt, em, etc.

Code:
.kmthumb
{
    bordercolor: #006699;
    bordersize: 2;
      border-style:solid;
}

Should be

Code:
.kmthumb
{
    border-color: #006699;
    border: 2px;
    border-style:solid;
}

Or

.kmthumb
{
    border:2px solid #006699;
}

NP. Hope it helped you some.

Btw here's some food for though, just my opinion, but you should really look at your site in Firefox, too. Being lazy isn't an excuse since your customers may be (good chance) using FF to view your site. Do you want to alienate your customers? The days of the "Best viewed in IE" have been long gone (thank gawd!!). If I come to your site and can't use it because I'm using FF I'm off to shop somewhere else. You lost my business and I'll probably never come back. Is that worth being lazy about?

I appreciate your advice, I really do.  I will say the same thing I have always said to my best friend since the creation of Firefox:  It's an inferior browser.  Nuff said.

If firefox cannot translate colors, borders, and tables properly like IE, Chrome, Safari, Oracle, Opera - then it's inferior.

Firefox sucks.  Sorry, that's just my professional opinion.    I try my best to have all browsers agree on my code.  For the most part, everybody else displays properly.  Except FF.

Lol, they ALL have issues, IE FF, Chrome Safari, etc, some just more than others. I get mad at all of them from time to time. But just because you or I may not like one and refuse to use it doesn't mean your customers feel the same. If that was the case none of my sites would probably be usable with IE for the last many years because I am SO tired of working around their horrible implementation of the "standards" 'most' other browsers accept. I'll leave it at that.
