Just curious --
Do you have to have a Premium store to use cpshop?? or will the basic stores work fine?

You can use cpshop with Basic Stores, Premium Stores, or any combination thereof.

I am considering doing this. What are the compelling reasons to go to a Premium service?

What would it entail to convert my MANY basic shops?

I am not concerned with the money, but with the effort and payoff.

thanks,

The best reason to go to Premium stores is the product management and site structure.  While you can use cpshop to manage the categories of your store, CafePress spends a lot more time on their interface than I have in my spare time.

And besides having unlimited subsections and hidden sections, premium shops can easily import basic shop products, which means switching to preium is pretty easy.

Man, listen to me...you'd think I worked there.

Anyway, simply put, it's a lot easier to deal with one premium shop than a hundred basic shops.  Things like changing all the prices of all t-shirts simultaneously becomes a breeze.
