Hi Marty!

You've a tutorial called How to embed cpshop in a PHP page on the message boards that teaches everyone how to embed parts of CPShop into web pages.

The first step tells us to change the $script_dir variable to include the folder where cpshop.cgi is installed in.

Thus, since my cpshop.cgi is located at :

/home/public_html/cgi-bin/store/

then this variable will be coded as :

$script_dir = "/home/public_html/cgi-bin/store/"

Next, I uploaded the edited script and when I preview it in the CPShop Admin Panel, I get an Internal Server 500 error!

I deleted the newly-added line and uploaded the original script. All works fine.

I tried this cycle for many times and the problem appears when I edit the $script_dir variable.

The "/home/public_html/cgi-bin/store/" path can't be wrong cos' I used several really reliable methods to get it.

If I can't even successfully complete this 1st step, how am I gonna be able to fulfil my dream of embedding CPShop in a PHP file!

I really hope you can help me, Marty!
Been trying to solve this weird problem 4 hours every night since Monday!

Thanks,
Xeon.

Well, let's look at the most common mistake first.

Were you sure you added the semi-colon at the end of the $script_dir line?

$script_dir = "/home/public_html/cgi-bin/store/";

Thanks Marty!
Yes, I've checked.

The semi-colon is added, but it still doesn't work.
Are there any other solutions?

Thanks,
Xeon.

Are you working with two separate files -- one with the script_dir line, and one without?

If you are, then the problem might be with the file encoding of one file.

If we can't figure this out, I may have to login myself (with your permission and assistance, of course) to try to root out the problem.

Nay, Marty! I only uploaded one cpshop.cgi file to my server.
