Can someone please tell me if I'm thinking right?

If I have my PID in the config does the Affiliate cookie get set automatically?

Lets say I add a section to my store with another shops items, is the cookie generated or do I have to do something else?

Just enter your pid into the field at the bottom of the admin screen.  That's it.

OK, next question.

1) you have your PID in the config

2) you also check the box that allows other CafePress affiliates to link to your CP shop, as opposed to your shop(s) on cafepress.com

The note on the config says checking the box will override your PID. Understood. Makes sense.

Question: Does that mean I cannot be an affiliate for other CafePress stores from my own CPshop?

OK, better yet, I'll be specific. I have a friend with a CafePress store called cafepress.com/rekthecomputer .

I want to include her entire store in my CPshop store (when I have it all running). I want to get paid for this via CafePress' affiliate program. So, I added my PID on the config.

OK, now I ALSO want people to be able to link directly to pages and items in my CPshop store when it's all ready to go.

If I click the box that allows affiliates to do that, thus overriding my PID, does that mean that I will get no money for having my friend's store in my CPshop?

Or, does it only override when my affiliates go to my friend's shop? (in which case, CafePress' refferal system kicks in for me)

By default, it will use your PID.  That will generate a commission for you if the store belongs to someone else.

If someone overrides it with their own PID, then it will use their PID for everything, your products and other people's.
